Face and neck lift
The face and neck lift treats sagging of the skin and deeper tissues of the face and neck, for sharper contours and a more rested appearance, without changing the shape or identity of the face. Dr Manon Belhoste performs this procedure in Marseille, from €5,500 to €8,500.

The procedure
Dr Manon Belhoste performs the face and neck lift, which lifts the skin and deeper tissues of the face and neck, then removes the excess skin. The scars run along the temple, around the ear and towards the hairline at the nape of the neck.
Depending on the sagging, the neck muscle is also tightened, liposuction removes fat under the chin or from the neck, and fat grafting, using fat taken from the body, restores volume. These procedures are decided during consultation.

Frequently asked questions
Here is a visual and schematic representation of the face and neck lift.

A face and neck lift restores sharper contours to the face and neck and a more rested look, without changing the shape or identity of the face. On its own, it does not correct all wrinkles, changes in skin texture or pigmentation, or all signs of ageing on the forehead, eyelids and mouth outline. Depending on the degree of ageing and the goal, the alternatives are having no procedure, aesthetic medical treatments, botulinum toxin, fillers, fat grafting, skin treatments, a more limited lift, or another surgical technique. Not all of them produce the same effect as a face and neck lift.
Before a face and neck lift, Dr Manon Belhoste asks you to report all medicines, food supplements, allergies, illnesses and previous surgery. No medicine containing aspirin should be taken in the 10 days before the procedure, unless a doctor advises otherwise, and an anticoagulant or antiplatelet drug is never stopped on its own: the decision is made with the doctor who prescribed it, Dr Manon Belhoste and the anaesthetist. Stopping all smoking and nicotine is strongly recommended before and after the procedure, as they increase the risk of poorly supplied skin, skin necrosis and delayed healing. Hair should be washed thoroughly the day before, make-up should be removed carefully on the day of the procedure, and the fasting instructions from the anaesthesia team must be followed strictly.
After a face and neck lift, a dressing wraps around the head and neck, rest is partial in the first few days, and strenuous activity, carrying heavy loads and sudden movements with the head lowered should be avoided. Swelling is usual, sometimes more marked on the second day than the first, with frequent bruising on the face, neck and chin, and a feeling of tightness behind the ears and around the neck. Sleeping with the head and upper body slightly raised limits swelling.
A face and neck lift restores the tissues to a better position at a given moment. Natural ageing continues afterwards. Skin quality, weight changes, smoking, sun exposure and individual healing characteristics influence the result and its duration.
The scars of a face and neck lift are placed in the hair at the temporal or occipital level and around the ear. They are designed to be largely hidden in natural folds and the hair. They must be protected from the sun for several months. They gradually fade from the 6th month onwards.
The price of a face and neck lift covers Dr Manon Belhoste's fees, follow-up consultations after the operation, the anaesthesia and clinic fees at Polyclinique La Phocéanne or Clinique Phénicia.
