Botulinum toxin type A injections
Botulinum toxin type A softens expression lines on the face: it temporarily reduces the contraction of the targeted muscles, for a natural result that matches your expressions. Dr Manon Belhoste performs these injections in Marseille, from €300 to €700.

The procedure at the practice
Dr Manon Belhoste performs botulinum toxin type A injections, which soften expression lines, at several points with a fine needle. The areas treated and the strength of the effect are decided during your consultation, based on your face and your expressions: the lion lines between the brows, forehead lines, crow's feet at the corners of the eyes, the position of the brows or other areas.

Frequently asked questions
Botulinum toxin type A softens lines caused by the contraction of facial muscles, without an operation and without time off. The alternative is not to have the treatment. Depending on the indication, other aesthetic medicine options or surgery can be discussed, each with its own benefits, limits and risks. The limits: deep lines already present at rest, skin quality, earlier asymmetries and ageing may not always be corrected by botulinum toxin alone.
Before a botulinum toxin type A injection, Dr Manon Belhoste needs to know your medical history, treatments, allergies and any injections you have already had. A neuromuscular disease such as myasthenia gravis, a history of aspiration, of difficulty swallowing or of difficulty breathing, a treatment that acts on the muscles, such as certain aminoglycoside antibiotics, spectinomycin or muscle relaxants, previous facial surgery, inflammation, muscle weakness or an existing asymmetry must be reported without fail. A known allergy to the product or any of its components, or an infection or inflammation at a planned injection site, rules out the treatment. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, aesthetic treatment is not recommended.
After a botulinum toxin type A injection, the treated areas should not be rubbed or massaged for the first 24 hours, as the product could spread beyond the targeted area. Small bumps or redness appear at the injection points and fade quickly. Bruising is possible. On the day of treatment, strenuous physical activity and strong heat should be avoided. Normal activities resume straight away after the session, and a check-up is offered around 1 to 2 weeks later, once the effect has settled.
The effect of a botulinum toxin injection is temporary. It can last up to around four months, with individual variation. Further injections may be considered if they remain indicated.
Botulinum toxin mainly softens lines caused by muscle activity. Deep lines already present at rest, skin quality, existing asymmetries and ageing may persist and call for other approaches, such as fillers, biostimulators, skincare or surgery.
Depending on the indication, botulinum toxin can be combined with other aesthetic medicine options or with surgery. Each option has its own benefits, limits and risks. The combination and timing are discussed during your consultation, depending on your goals and medical history.
